Archeology Meetings

The New York Archaeological Council will hold its Spring Meeting on April 30, 2022 in person and via Zoom at the University of Buffalo.

Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology 92st Annual Meeting, April 14-16, 2023, DuBois, PA

The Middle Atlantic Archaeological Conference will be held on March 24 thru March 27, 2022. It will take place at the Holiday Inn, Oceanfront 6600 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, Maryland 21842.

Archaeological Society of Maryland 2022 Spring Symposium will take place on April 16, 2022, at the People's Resource Center in Crownsville, Maryland.

Archeology Field Trip

3/31/20 Update on the 2020 SPA Field Trip

With this year's SPA field trip scheduled for June 10-14 in mind and given the current situation with the Covid-19 virus, we have been monitoring the situation at the stops we planned to make. All of the Civil War related stops on our planned tour are now closed, and it is not clear how many of them still will be closed in June. Of course, we also want our trip to be safe and healthy for everyone, and we would still need enough participants to make this trip feasible.

Taking all of this into consideration, we have reluctantly decided not to proceed with our planned 2020 field trip, and will be making our cancellations over the next week. We will hope to do this trip in June of 2021. If you have already registered, the SPA will be refunding your registration fees. Please also cancel any hotel reservations you may have made in anticipation. We will miss seeing the sites and museums on our tour as well as spending this time with other people interested in archaeology, but we trust you understand that this seems to be the most prudent decision at this time.
